FINANCIAL COUNSELOR--ORTHOPAEDICS/ WKONA
1.
Performs face to face and telephone interactions with patients regarding insurance/billing clerical matters, including review and verification of patient account information against insurance program specifications2.
Resolve routine patient billing and account inquiries 3.
Follow up on account balances due from insurance companies and patients 4.
Enter data to process charges, payments, denials and adjustments pertaining to patient accounts 5.
Research and follow up on credit balance accounts 6.
Add insurance information and file charges on accounts for primary and secondary insurances 7.
Perform other support tasks such as filing, document retrieval, log referrals 8.
May assist other department staff with payment posting and scanning EOBs 9.
Carries out special projects as assigned by supervisor 10.
Other duties as assigned/necessary.
May involve extended training of newly hired employees.
This will require advanced knowledge of all aspects of the job.
As expected with all healthcare positions, must adhere to HIPAA/OSHA regulations and maintain annual required workplace trainings.
